Air Conditioner Tune-Up Checklist
  • Clean outdoor condenser coil
  • Check refrigerant charge in system
  • Furnish and install new fliter, includes Airscreen or Dynamic brand media (4″ media filters or ionization filters not included but sold at discounted rate)
  • Inspect for refrigerant leaks
  • Inspect contactor
  • Measure amp draws of electric components (higher than normal amp draws will indicate failing motors)
  • Inspect capacitors and relays for bulges, rust and leaks
  • Inspect electrical connections and tighten as needed
  • Check and adjust safety and operating controls
  • Check condenser starting capability
  • Clean condensate drain
  • Clean and check condensate pump
  • Inspect evaporator coil if accessible
  • Lubricate moving parts as needed
  • Visually inspect blower components
  • Check “temperature drop” (difference between return air temperature entering system and supply air temperature leaving system) adjust blower speed as necessary
  • Clean and calibrate thermostat as needed
  • Cycle A/C
  • Provide verbal and written report of equipment condition to homeowner

  • Inspect exposed flue piping, check natural draft flues
  • Lubricate moving parts as needed
  • Visually inspect blower components
  • Clean and inspect pilot components
  • Check and adjust safety and operating controls
  • Check gas valve operation
  • Check combustion
  • Adjust burners to burn at maximum efficiency
  • Clean and inspect ignition components
  • Clean and callibrate thermostat as needed
  • Cycle furnace
